How to Transfer a call using a Softphone

OVERVIEW

This article will help you Transfer a call when using a Softphone. There are separate instructions for the Desktop Client and Mobile Application when transferring via Attended Transfer or Blind Transfer.

LINKUS DESKTOP CLIENT: TRANSFER A CALL WITH ANNOUNCEMENT (ATTENDED TRANSFER)

1. During the call, click on Transfer and then Attended Transfer. The call will be put on hold and the caller will hear music until picked up. You can transfer to an internal or external number.
2. Transfer to an internal number:
   1. Enter the extension number or name of extension in the search field, then click on the extension you require. Wait for the call to be picked up by the recipient.
   2. When the recipient answers the call, advise them of the call and once they are ready, click on Transfer and hang up. The call will be transferred to the recipient.
   3. If the recipient does not answer or is unable to take the call, click on End Call, then click on Resume and the held call will come back to you.
3. Or transfer to an external number:
   1. Dial the external number in the search field and press enter. Wait for the call to be picked up by the recipient.
   2. When the recipient answers the call, advise them of the call and once they are ready, click on Transfer and hang up. The call will be transferred to the recipient.
   3. If the recipient does not answer or is unable to take the call, click on End Call, then click on Resume and the held call will come back to you.

LINKUS DESKTOP CLIENT: TRANSFER A CALL WITHOUT ANNOUNCEMENT (BLIND TRANSFER)

1. During the call, click on Transfer and then Blind Transfer. The call will be put on hold and the caller will hear music until picked up. You can transfer to an internal or external number.
2. Transfer to an internal number:
   1. Enter the extension number or name of extension in the search field, then click on the extension you require. 
   2. The call will be transferred to the recipient and your Linkus call window will close.
3. Or transfer to an external number:
   1. Dial the external number in the search field and press enter.
   2. The call will be transferred to the recipient and your Linkus call window will close.

LINKUS MOBILE APPLICATION: TRANSFER A CALL WITH ANNOUNCEMENT (ATTENDED TRANSFER)

1. During the call, tap on the small arrow above the 4 function keys, then tap Attended. The call will be put on hold and the caller will hear music until picked up. You can transfer to an internal or external number.
2. Transfer to an internal number:
   1. Enter the extension number or tap contacts and select the name or extension number, then tap Call. Wait for the call to be picked up by the recipient.
   2. When the recipient answers the call, advise them of the call and once they are ready, tap Attended and hang up. The call will be transferred to the recipient.
   3. If the recipient does not answer or is unable to take the call, tap Cancel and the held call will come back to you.
3. Or transfer to an external number:
   1. Enter the external number and tap Call. Wait for the call to be picked up by the recipient.
   2.  When the recipient answers the call, advise them of the call and once they are ready, tap Attended and hang up. The call will be transferred to the recipient.

   1. Enter the extension number or tap contacts and select the name or extension number, then tap Call.
   2. The call will be transferred to the recipient and your Linkus call window will close.
3. Or transfer to an external number:
   1. Enter the external number and tap Call.
   2. The call will be transferred to the recipient and your Linkus call window will close.
